TOWN OF MINTO – A Harriston resident faces charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.
On November 29, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a disturbance at an address in Harriston.
Grounds were formed to charge a 42-year-old from Harriston under the Criminal Code with the following intimate partner violence related offences:
- Uttering threats – Cause death or bodily harm (two counts)
- Theft under $5,000
- Break, enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence
- Mischief – domestic
- Failure to comply with Undertaking
The accused fled the address prior to police arrival. A warrant was sought for their arrest.
Further, on December 10, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Wellington OPP Offender Management and Apprehension Program (OMAP) located the wanted party and upon search incident to arrest, the accused was found with weapons in their possession.
As a result of the investigation, the accused is further charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Possession of weapon (three counts)
- Failure to comply with prohibition order
- Failure to comply with undertaking
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on December 11, 2025.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
