NEWS RELEASE DUFFERIN COUNTY OPP
The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with an impaired operation related offence following a single vehicle collision.
On December 18, 2025, just after 5:30 p.m., officers from Dufferin OPP received a call for a single motor vehicle into the ditch on County Road 3 and near 11th Line in East Garafraxa Township. Officers located the motor vehicle and spoke with the driver, which subsequently led to an impaired operation investigation.
A 35-year-old from Grand Valley has been charged with:
• Adult Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges. The driver’s licence was suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.
THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING
This incident was entirely preventable. Planning ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs is the responsibility of every driver.
