GUELPH – A Puslinch man has been charged with impaired driving in Guelph.
On Tuesday evening at around 6:21 pm, Guelph Police say an adult male was driving a vehicle eastbound on Clair Road and was stopped in the left turn lane, facing a red light at the Gordon Street intersection.
Police say the man had just been in a nearby restaurant consuming alcohol and left after he was refused further service.
When the light turned green, he accelerated quickly, crossing into the centre and curb lanes, striking the two vehicles in those lanes. He failed to stop after the collision and continued driving eastbound.
Police soon located him at a nearby residence, and he was subsequently arrested.
A 42-year-old Puslinch male has been charged with:
-Dangerous Operation
-Fail To Stop After Accident
-Operation While Impaired
-Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
No injuries resulted from the collision.
