FERGUS – In local PJHL action, the Fergus Whalers returned to action versus the Mitchell Hawks yesterday afternoon, with the Hawks prevailing in a tightly tested battle by a score of 2 to 1.
Mitchell goalie Josh Purtill stopped 28 of 29 shots in his first start for his new team.
Lucas Carson had the lone marker for the Whalers.
Next game for the Fergus is this Friday, January 9th, at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex when the team faces off against the Walkerton Capitals, puck drop is 830pm.
