NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – An Elora resident has been charged with intimidation.
On January 6, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an incident at an address in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old from Elora, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Intimidation – intimidates or attempts to intimidate
- Uttering threats – Cause death or bodily harm (two counts)
The accused was arrested on January 7, 2026, and released from police custody. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
