FERGUS – In local PJHL action this past weekend, the Fergus Whalers had a busy schedule, winning all 3 games, starting with a 9 to 2 victory on home ice against the Wingham Ironmen on Friday evening.
It was also the Whalers Teddy Bear Toss game on Friday.
On Saturday, in the first game of a home and home matchup with Hwy 6 rivals the Mount Forest Patriots, the Whalers prevailed with a tough 5 to 3 win with Jake Lessor registering a hat trick, his 30th, 31st tand 32nd goals on the season.
Back home in Fergus on Sunday, the Whalers completed their perfect weekend with a dominant 6 to 2 victory.
Andrew McClure led Fergus with 2 goals, while Noah Lundgren was solid in goal, stopping 27 of 29 shots in the win.
The Whalers now hit the road for the next 4 games before returning home on Sunday, Feb. 1st, for a matchup against division rivals the Hanover Barons at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, game time is 3 pm.
