CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Grand at 101 is now broadcasting from a new transmitter site in Salem, bringing improved sound quality, stronger coverage, and new digital features to listeners across Centre Wellington.
The switch, which took place Tuesday morning, includes the launch of High Definition radio. Many newer vehicles are already equipped to receive HD signals, identified by an HD symbol on the radio display.

Unlike satellite radio, HD radio is free to access and requires no subscription. Even listeners using traditional FM radios are expected to notice clearer and more reliable reception due to the higher tower location.
The HD upgrade will also allow the station to introduce a second digital channel in the near future, expanding local programming options.
In addition to broadcast improvements, backup power systems continue to be installed and finalized at both the studio and the new tower site through a partnership with the Township, strengthening the station’s ability to remain on the air during power outages.
