WELLINGTON COUNTY – A winter storm is forcing pre-emptive school closures across Wellington County.
In an email sent out Sunday night, the Upper Grand District School Board says due to inclement weather, all of its schools and offices will be closed Monday, January 26th, to both students and staff. Students are to shift to remote learning, where possible.
The UGDSB says staff should not report to work in person, and should shift to remote working where possible.
All buses and taxis are cancelled to Upper Grand schools.
Meanwhile, the Wellington Catholic District School Board says all of its schools and administrative buildings will be closed to students and most staff on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to the significant weather event and ongoing snow removal efforts.
The University of Guelph is also closed Monday.
