CENTRE WELLINGTON – Deep snow has turned Centre Wellington into a winter playground, perfect for snow forts and outdoor fun, though officials continue to stress the importance of staying safe.
In a post to social media, the Township of Centre Wellington says while snow forts are fun, roadside snowbanks are not a safe place to build them.
The township says snowplow operators work with limited visibility and may not see children hidden inside or behind large snowbanks.
The township is reminding parents to have kids stay clear of roadside snow piles and play in safer areas.
