FERGUS – In local PJHL this past weekend, the Fergus Whalers hit the road for a couple of games on Friday and Saturday night.
Friday in Wingham, the Whalers prevailed by a score of 5 to 2 over the Ironmen, led by a strong performance from defenceman Jacob Jackson with a goal and 2 assists.
On Saturday, the team travelled to Mitchell to take on the Hawks, with Fergus coming out on top with a dominating 8 to 2 victory.
Brothers Justin and Tyler Ewald led the attack with a goal and an assist each for the Whalers.
Back home on Sunday, the Whalers took on the defending Schmalz Cup Champion Hanover Barons.
Led by Fergus goalie Noah Lundgren with his 4th shutout of the season, the Whalers prevailed by a score of 3 to 0 in a highly contested game.
Next home game for Fergus is this Friday, February 6th, vs. the Walkerton Capitals at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, puck drop is 8:30 pm.
