FERGUS – In local PJHL action, it was another 3-game weekend for the Fergus Whalers.
On Friday, the Whalers hosted the Walkerton Capitals and came away with a 7 to 5 victory.
Fergus was led offensively by Everett Force and Jacob Lessor with 2 goals apiece.
On Saturday, the team travelled to Mitchell to take on the Hawks, with the Whalers prevailing with a lopsided 9 to 1 victory.
Andrew McClure, with a 4-point performance along with a Tyler Ewald hat trick, paced the Whaler attack.
Defenceman Mark Grguric chipped in with a goal and 2 assists as well for Fergus.
Back home yesterday afternoon, the Whalers continued their winning ways with a big victory over the Hanover Barons by a score of 3 to 2 to extend their winning streak to 10 straight games.
Joey Martin was the offensive star of the game, with Noah Lundgren supplying solid goaltending in the Whaler net.
Next home game for the Whalers is this Sunday versus the Mitchell Hawks at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, puck drop is 3pm.
