Press Release: Wellington County OPP, Feb. 17, 2026.
MAPLETON TOWNSHIP- An individual is charged following an incident in Drayton.
On February 15, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an altercation at an address in Drayton.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old from Drayton, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – spousal
- Assault with a weapon – spousal
The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
The victim did not sustain any injuries.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
