ELORA– After an eleven-month closure for site improvements, the Elora Waste Facility, the County’s busiest waste facility site, will reopen to the public on Tuesday, March 3.
The Elora Waste Facility has undergone several site improvements, including:
- An expanded drop-off area for improved unloading and traffic management
- Scale house construction with installation of dual scales
- Replacement of the retaining wall and Household Hazardous Waste building
- Paving and concrete works
- Additional areas established for the placement and storage of waste diversion
materials
“The County is pleased to officially reopen the Elora Waste Facility,” said Steve O’Neill, Solid Waste Services Committee Chair. “These upgrades will make the site function more efficiently, and will improve safety, from an unloading and traffic management standpoint.”
During the project construction, the Belwood Waste Facility had expanded days of operation. Beginning March 1, Belwood’s days of operation will return to being open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
