Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two youths following an investigation into threats made toward a local public elementary school in Kitchener.
On March 4, 2026, police received information that a threat to commit violence at the school had been posted on social media. Concerned for the safety of the school community, witnesses immediately contacted police.
Through the investigation, officers identified two youths, aged 16 and 17, as being responsible for the online threat.
Both youths were arrested on March 5, 2026. They have been charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death and are being held in police custody for a bail hearing.
The involved school was notified, and investigators believe there is no further risk to public safety at this time.
