NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Two drivers were charged on Friday for impaired driving within Wellington County.
On March 7, 2026, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle exhibiting aggressive driving behaviour on Tower Street in Fergus and initiated a traffic stop.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old from Puslinch, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on April 14, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
Additionally, on March 7, 2026, at approximately 5:45 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision on Concession Road 1 in Puslinch Township. There were no reported injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old from Kitchener, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on April 17, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
