NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – Since Sunday, two Erin residents have been charged following separate intimate partner violence investigations.
On March 8, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a disturbance at an address in Erin.
As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old from Erin, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault – spousal
The victim did not sustain any reported injuries.
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on a later date.
Additionally, on March 10, 2026, at approximately 1:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP responded to the report of a disturbance at an address in Erin.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old from Erin, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Assault – spousal
- Uttering threats – damage property
The victim was seen by local Emergency Medical Services as a precaution for minor injuries.
The accused was held in police custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
