GUELPH – A Guelph man faces trafficking charges after police seized more than $7,000 in cocaine and opioid pills on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier this year, Guelph Police began an investigation into a man believed to be trafficking controlled substances.
During surveillance, the man was observed acting in a manner consistent with trafficking in Guelph and Waterloo Region.
Just before 4 pm Wednesday, the male was located in a vehicle in a Woodlawn Road West parking lot and arrested.
Officers seized a quantity of cocaine and more than 450 prescription opioids with a total value of $7,200.
A 27-year-old Guelph man is charged with trafficking a controlled substance and two counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
