FERGUS – In local PJHL playoff action, the Fergus Whalers and the Hanover Barons kicked off their best-of-seven Pollock Division Final series Saturday night in Hanover.
Led by strong offensive performances by brothers Tyler and Justin Ewald, along with Jake Lessor, Andrew McClure, and Lucas Carson, the Whalers scored early and often to take game one by a score of 6 to 0.
Noah Lundgren stopped all 22 shots he faced for his 1st shutout of the playoffs.
Back home in Fergus on Sunday, the Barons prevailed in a closely contested game by a score of 3 to 2.
The best of seven series now stands at one game apiece, with game 3 this Wednesday night at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, puck drop is at 8:30 pm.
