NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – A Guelph driver is charged following a traffic stop in Morriston.
On March 26, 2026, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit was conducting proactive traffic enforcement on Queen Street in Morriston, when they observed a vehicle travelling almost double the posted speed limit through a community safety zone.
As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old from Guelph, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed – community zone
- Speeding – community safety zone
A 30-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
