WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Counties of Wellington and Grey, and the City of Owen Sound have announced that the Guelph Owen Sound Transportation bus service has been extended through August 31, 2026.
This extension is supported by funding contributions from the Province of Ontario through the Ontario Transit Investment Fund (OTIF), and the Counties of Grey and Wellington.
The service connects Owen Sound and Guelph, stopping in Chatsworth, Williamsford, Durham, Mount Forest, Arthur, Fergus, and Elora.
“The extension builds on the success of the original program, which was initially funded through the Province of Ontario’s Community Transportation Grant Program. Strong ridership and effective financial management have demonstrated the value of the service and supported its continuation, ” stated in a press release.
Last year, the Guelph Owen Sound Transportation provided almost 13,000 unique rides, with service peaking in the summer months and showing positive growth throughout the year as the service was adopted by more customers.
