In local PJHL hockey action, the Fergus Whalers travelled to Stayner to kick off their best-of-seven North Conference Final Playoff Series.
After a tightly contested first period, the Whalers took command and never looked back with a dominating 9 to 3 victory.
Fergus was led offensively by a 5-point effort from Joey Martin. Defenseman Nolan Drury chipped in with 3 assists to also contribute to the Whalers’ win.
With the win, the Whalers now lead the best-of-seven series one game to nothing with Game 2 scheduled for this Wednesday, April 8th, at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
