FERGUS – In local PJHL hockey playoff action Wednesday night, the Fergus Whalers outlasted the Stayner Siskins by a score of 4 to 3 in overtime to take a two games to none lead in their best-of-seven Northern Conference Final Series.
Liam Eveleigh tipped home a Joey Martin shot with 35 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to give Fergus the victory.
Goalie Noah Lundgren made several outstanding saves to backstop the Whalers to the win.
Fergus now travels to Stayner for game 3 tonight before returning home for game 4 this Sunday at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
