FERGUS – The Fergus Whalers are the Northern Conference Champions.
On Sunday, in local PJHL playoff hockey action, the Fergus Whalers took another major step in their pursuit of the Smaultz Cup!
The Whalers completed a four-game series sweep of the Stayner Siskins with a hard-fought 3 to 2 victory before a crowd of over 900 fans at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
Andrew McClure had a pair of goals for Fergus, including the game-winner late in the contest.
Goalie Noah Lundgren stopped 33 of 35 shots with another solid performance between the pipes for the Whalers.
Fergus now awaits their next opponent in the final four upon completion of the series between Uxbridge and Frankfort.
That schedule is set to come later this week.
