Guelph, Ont. – Caregivers, families, and those planning to start a family are invited to attend the upcoming State of Licensed Child Care Forum, taking place on May 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Delta Hotel in Guelph (50 Stone Road West).
Hosted by Wellington County’s Children’s Early Years Division, in its role as Service System Manager for licensed child care in Wellington-Guelph, this free public forum will provide information about licensed child care and the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system, including how it works, current pressures, and future opportunities.
The event is designed to help caregivers better understand and navigate licensed child care options, while building confidence to advocate for affordable, accessible, and highquality care.
Attendees will hear from Ashley Vanderlaan, Director of Children’s Early Years, and Christa O’Connor, RECE and President of the Ontario Coalition for Better Childcare, followed by a question-and-answer session.
“Families are looking for clarity and support when it comes to child care,” said Ashley Vanderlaan, Director of Children’s Early Years. “This forum is about providing the information and tools they need to make informed decisions.”
