NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(MAPLETON TWP, ON) – Traffic stop results in five charges laid.
On April 21, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, and initiated a traffic stop on Wellington Road 86, within Mapleton Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old from St Jacobs, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Operate unsafe vehicle
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence
- Improper muffler
- Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates
- Colour coating obscuring interior
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph at a later date.
