NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) – Local resident facing three criminal charges stemming from an intimate partner violence investigation.
On April 29, 2026, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at an address within the Town of Erin.
As a result of the investigation, a 75-year-old from the Town of Erin is charged under the Criminal Code with the following:
- Assault – Spousal
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or bodily harm – Spousal (two counts)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph at a later date.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
