WELLINGTON COUNTY – Changes are coming to Centre Wellington and Wellington County’s recycling collection system this summer.
According to correspondence included in Tuesday’s agenda for the Wellington County Solid Waste Services Committee, curbside recycling will switch to cart-based collection in mid-August.
Recycling pickup will also be moving to an every-other-week schedule beginning the week of August 10th for Fergus (west of Hwy 6), Elora and Salem, and the week of August 17 for Fergus (east of Hwy 6) and Belwood.
The correspondence says to support the system changes, residents will be able to choose their preferred recycling cart size through an online pre-order form launching May 11th and running until June 12th.
Anyone who does not select a cart will automatically receive a standard 360-litre cart.
Delivery of the new carts is expected to begin July 6th and wrap up by the end of July, ahead of the new collection rollout.
