Centre Wellington Fire Rescue were called to Elora today, June 3, at around 12:30 p.m., in response to a dumpster fire on First Line.
Deputy Fire Chief, Jonathan Karn, said the fire was located at the Metro warehouse.
The fire was quickly extinguished and there are no reported injuries.
Due to the fire reaching the outer side of the building, but not the interior, warehouse workers were sent home for the day.
Karn said the fire has been deemed not suspicious, but the fire prevention staff are actively working with warehouse staff to determine a cause.
At the time of writing there is no indication of what could have caused the fire, but he said dumpster fires typically source from hazardous materials not being disposed of properly.
