GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A Fergus driver faces a list of charges after reports of a vehicle colliding with road signs.
On Sunday afternoon at around 3pm, Wellington County OPP responded to reports of a vehicle that collided with road signs before entering a ditch along Wellington Road 7 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Police say the vehicle then departed the location.
Approximately two hours later, the same vehicle struck two hydro poles and subsequently collided into a field on Wellington Road 7 in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
The driver was transported to local hospital with minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 67-year-old from Fergus, is charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
- Failure to stop after accident
- Possess unmarked cigarettes
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a Guelph court in July.
