Press Release: Wellington County OPP, June 10, 2026.
CENTRE WELLINGTON – Two drivers were arrested yesterday for impaired driving in Centre Wellington Township.
On June 9, 2026, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) conducted a traffic stop on Second Line East in Centre Wellington Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old male from Alma, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 24, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
Additionally, on June 9, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP TMU conducted a traffic stop on Parkside Drive West in Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old woman from Cambridge, was charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on July 24, 2026.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
