Last year Centre Wellington Pride hosted their first Community Celebration and this weekend the event is returning to Wellington County Museum and Archives.
All community members are welcome to join Centre Wellington Pride’s 2026 Community Celebration on June 13, at noon, for an afternoon that highlights the care, joy and strengths of the local 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Stage manager, Annette Chretien, said the event is a festival of sorts with vendor booths, education booths and family activities.
Chretien said providing a safe space for both youth and adults is important in connecting the entire community.
Providing access to education is important for Centre Wellington Pride; on-site there will be booths with psychologists and Indigenous resources too.
There will also be an extensive lineup of musical performers, including an opening and closing ceremony with an Indigenous elder.
She said last year’s event was a big success with over 400 attendees and everyone had a pleasant time.
This year’s Community Celebration kicks off at noon and runs until 4:30 p.m.
