ELORA – A technical issue is affecting Elora’s paid parking system.
In a news release, the Township of Centre Wellington says it was made aware of a potential issue involving links from its paid parking system to the payment platform on Wednesday afternoon at around 3:07 p.m.
Some residents reported on social media that they were redirected from the Township’s penalty notice payment website to unrelated websites, including some containing adult content.
“As a precautionary measure, paid parking, including penalty notice payments, has been temporarily suspended while the Township works with its service provider to investigate and resolve the issue,” the township said in a news release Thursday.
Based on the information provided by the service provider to date, the township says there is no evidence that any personal information, payment details, or financial data have been compromised.
