GUELPH – An Arthur man is charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision in Guelph Saturday morning.
Just after 5 a.m., officers were called to the area of Laird Road and Downey Road where they found an SUV approximately 100 metres off the road in a field.
Officers spoke to the driver and noted signs of impairment. After failing a roadside breath test, police say the man was arrested and transported to the police station, where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 19-year-old Arthur man is charged with impaired driving, careless driving, and young driver having alcohol in his system.
His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
