CENTRE WELLINGTON – Council has approved an updated Speed Limit By-law introducing reduced speed limits on five Township roads, following a staff review of road geometry, adjacent land uses, collision history, and observed driving speeds.
Under the changes, the township says the speed limit on Middlebrook Road will be reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h, while Noah Road will be reduced from 80 km/h to 50 km/h.
In addition, Parkside Drive West, Woodside Street, and St. Andrew Street East between St. David Street North and Gartshore Street will see reductions from 50 km/h to 40 km/h.
The updated by-law consolidates the new speed zones into the Township’s annual speed limit schedule.
New signage will be installed throughout the summer and fall to bring the changes into full effect.
Costs associated with the signage will be funded through the existing 2026 Traffic Calming Measures budget.
