NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(GUELPH, ON) – Car strikes cyclist, driver charged.
On June 30, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the intersection of Hanlon Parkway North and Stone Road West, within the City of Guelph, involving a sedan striking a cyclist on the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the cyclist was transported to local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the sedan did not sustain any injuries.
A portion of the intersection was blocked off for the investigation, but has since been reopened.
As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old from Guelph has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Turn – not in safety
