NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(MOUNT FOREST, ON) – Police are investigating a single fatal motor vehicle collision.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 5:57 p.m., members of the Wellington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Fire and Paramedic Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle on Highway 6 between Sideroad 3 and Sideroad 4 in Mount Forest, in the Township of Wellington North.
It was determined that the vehicle left the roadway and went into the ditch. The driver, a 53-year-old of Mount Forest suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation.
Highway 6 is currently closed between Sideroad 3 and Sideroad 4, and it is anticipated that the closure will last for several hours while officers investigate,
