NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – Impaired driver arrested. Six charges laid.
On July 15, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene of a two-motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 124 within Guelph-Eramosa Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old of Kitchener is charged under the Criminal Code, Liquor Licence and Control Act, Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Owner operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Drive motor vehicle, no permit
- Fail to notify change of address
There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on August 25, 2026.
