An OPP press release said a multi-jurisdictional, cross-border investigation, called Project Bay, resulted in the seizure of around 1.7 tonnes of illegal drugs including suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and opium.
In early 2025 Windsor Police Service (WPS) partnered with the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the OPP to tackle an investigation into cross-border drug trafficking.
In June 2026 multiple police jurisdictions and departments executed 18 search warrants at various residences and businesses in Windsor, Corunna, LaSalle, Brampton and Kleinburg.
Police said on July 14 two search warrants were issued in Markham and Caledon, and another two warrants were executed in Brampton on July 20.
Throughout the investigation police have seized; 973 kilos of suspected cocaine, 660 kilos of suspected methamphetamine, 49 kilos of opium, 230 oxycodone tablets, and 17 firearms including an anti-tank rifle.

Police also seized around $80,000 in Canadian cash, $10,000 in American bills, money counters as well as 43 cell phones and six laptops.
The press release said the estimated street value of the drugs is roughly $139 million.
Twenty-one individuals have been charged with 102 offences; 19 of the accused have been arrested and the other two have active warrants for their arrests.
Those at-large are two unnamed Windsor residents, a 22-year-old and a 28-year-old.
