GUELPH-ERAMOSA: On Aug., 2, 2026 a passerby extracted a person stuck inside a vehicle partially submerged in Guelph Lake.
According to Wellington County OPP at around 10:15 p.m., a single vehicle had flipped onto its roof and was partially submerged in the lake.
Upon their arrival OPP discovered a bystander made their way to the flipped vehicle, cut the seatbelt, and escorted the driver to shore.
No injuries were reported; an investigation revealed that a single vehicle had lost control on Wellington Road 29 and flipped into the lake.
Wellington County OPP charged the 54-year-old driver from Guelph with making an unsafe move on a lane or shoulder.
The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph courts at a later date.
In the press release police reminded drivers to adjust their speed and heading according to road and weather conditions.
