FERGUS – The province’s Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate following a traffic stop in Fergus.
On Monday morning at around 8:15 am, Wellington County OPP conducted a traffic stop on St. David Street.
Following the initial investigation, police say the driver was taken into custody. During the arrest, the individual sustained an injury and was transported to hospital.
The OPP notified the SIU, which invoked its mandate.
As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide further information.
