MAPLETON: Mapleton Township has announced a roughly $4.7 million investment as part of the federal $51 billion Build Communities Strong Fund.
The $4,777,344 is being used to enhance and expand the PMD Arena and Community Centre in Drayton; the investment will be used to fund a new multi-sport community space, accessibility improvements and building upgrades to increase energy efficiency.
Mapleton mayor, Gregg Davidson, said this investment continues to prove the Township is confident in building a vibrant community.
“This funding will help us deliver on Mapleton’s vision ‘rooted in tradition; growing for the future,'” Davidson said in a press release.
“We are grateful to the federal government for recognizing the importance of investing in local infrastructure and supporting municipalities as we work together for a stronger and more sustainable future.”
Mapleton’s chief administrative officer, Manny Baron, thanks the team involved with securing the funds.
“Securing investments of this nature requires significant effort behind the scenes, and this funding is a direct reflection of our team’s commitment to strengthening our infrastructure and delivering value for Mapleton,” Baron said.
