NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – A Brampton driver is facing charges following a collision in Fergus.
On August 28, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside local Emergency Medical Services and local Fire Services responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 18 between Orangeville Road and Wellington Road 29 in Fergus.
Two individuals were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old from Brampton, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Careless driving
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
Wellington Road 18 was closed for approximately two hours but has since re-opened.
