ONTARIO – The Ontario Provincial Police says the 9-1-1 system has largely stabilized after intermittent outages were reported across the province early Thursday morning.
The OPP began receiving reports of disruptions at around 4 a.m.
All OPP Provincial Communications Centres are now receiving and processing 9-1-1 calls.
Police say the system appears to be largely restored, but intermittent disruptions may still occur.
If you need an emergency police response and cannot get through on 9-1-1, you’re asked to call the OPP’s non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122, which remains operational.
The OPP says officers continued responding to calls for service throughout the outage.
Police are also reminding people not to call 9-1-1 simply to test the system.
