GUELPH – A Wellington County man is facing charges after allegedly trying to sell a stolen vehicle to undercover police officers.
Guelph Police say an officer began communicating with the man earlier this month after he posted a 2016 Lexus sports car for sale online.
A meeting was arranged Wednesday morning at a parking lot in Guelph’s north end, where two undercover officers met with the seller.
Police say the man then directed the officers to another parking lot, where the Lexus was parked.
Members of the Guelph Police Break Enter Auto Theft Unit arrested the man at the scene.
The 55-year-old Wellington County man is charged with possessing proceeds of crime over $5,000 and trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on December 8th.
