FERGUS – The Fergus Fall Fair returns this weekend at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex grounds for its 189th year, bringing three days of agriculture, entertainment and family fun to the community.
The fair runs Friday through Sunday, September 18th to 20th, with activities getting underway at 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. Sunday.
Visitors can take in agricultural shows and demonstrations, farm animals, the exhibit hall and market, midway rides and games, along with live entertainment throughout the weekend.
Some of the highlights include the OTTPA truck and tractor pulls, Krusher BMX performances, sheep herding demonstrations, a classic car show and a heavy horse show.
There will also be plenty of activities for families, including a toddler farmyard, Touch-a-Tractor and Farmer for a Day.
A new feature this year is the Fergus Fall Fair’s first-ever mascot, Pearl, a 16-year-old Percheron horse. The one-tonne gentle giant will be available for meet-and-greets throughout the weekend near the main admission gate.
Pearl and her owner Sarah will also take part in the Heavy Horse Show on Sunday.
The Fergus Fall Fair runs through Sunday afternoon, with more information and the full schedule available through the Fergus Agricultural Society.
