CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games is giving back to local community organizations following this year’s festival weekend.
The Festival Board of Directors has donated a total of $21,252.50 to 13 local groups in recognition of their support during the event.
The organizations receiving donations are:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington
- Centre Wellington Food Bank
- CW Pride
- Community Resource Centre of North & Centre Wellington
- Elora Curling Club
- Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling
- Fergus Curling Club
- Fergus Elora Rotary
- Fergus & District Camera Club
- Highland Rugby Club
- Royal City Roller Derby
- Volunteers in Action of CW Rotary
- 4-H Exchange
Festival representatives say the organizations provided 247 volunteers, contributing more than 900 hours in a variety of roles throughout the festival weekend.
“We are truly proud of this community fundraising initiative which continues to grow and get better with each year,” says Elizabeth Bender, Executive Director and Volunteer Lead.
Margaret Silva of the Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club says the group also enjoyed being part of the festival.
“We had loads of fun, met wonderful people, and look forward to next year.”
The Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games will return for its 82nd edition from August 13th to 15th, 2027.
