MAPLETON – Police have charged three teens involved in a rollover crash that occurred in Mapleton.
On Sept. 26 at around 12:15 p.m. Wellington County OPP alongside medical and fire emergency response crews got the report of a single-vehicle rollover into a ditch on Ruth Anne Place in Mapleton Township.
The report said an ATV was involved along with three teenagers.
“Two were transported to a local hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, while the third was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious, non-life-threatening injuries,” the police report said.
As a result of the investigation a 14-year-old from Mapleton has been charged with;
- Careless driving causing bodily harm
- Drive motor vehicle – no licence
- Drive motor vehicle – no plates
- Unlawfully drive Off Road Vehicle on highway
- Drive with passenger not wearing proper helmet (two counts)
- Drive passenger with passenger seated improperly
The other teens, a 13 and a 14-year-old from Drayton, were charged with Fail to wear proper helmet.
Each accused is scheduled to appear before the Guelph courts on a later date “to speak to the charges.”
