Under the restrictions, parking is prohibited on all public roadways between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. throughout the winter season. The restrictions help ensure snow can be cleared safely and efficiently from local roads, keeping Township streets safer and more accessible for residents.

Downtown residents who do not have access to overnight parking at home can use designated municipal parking lots. Parking is limited to a maximum of 24 consecutive hours at the following locations:
- 25 Metcalfe Street, Elora: Beside the Elora LCBO.
- Menzie’s Lane, Fergus: Between the Fergus Public Library and the Grand River.

Overnight parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. is prohibited in all other municipal parking lots, as indicated by posted signage.Vehicles parked in the designated lots must comply with all applicable parking rules and regulations, including the 24-hour maximum.
The township says residents should also be aware that parking may be temporarily prohibited at Menzie’s Lane, 160 Provost Lane and 25 Metcalfe Street during scheduled snow-clearing operations. Advance signage will be posted when these restrictions are in effect.
Rules for Parking on Lower Driveway Boulevards
Vehicles may be parked on the paved portion of a lower driveway boulevard, provided they meet the Township’s requirements. Vehicles that do not comply may be subject to tickets or towing.Residents parking on a lower driveway boulevard must follow these rules:
- Vehicles must be parked on the paved driveway portion, not on landscaped or hardscaped areas.
- Vehicles must not access the paved portion by driving over landscaped or hardscaped areas.
- All vehicle tires must remain on the paved, hard surface.
- No part of the vehicle may overhang the sidewalk, curb or roadway.
There are also situations where parking on a lower driveway boulevard is not permitted:
- Shared driveways: Vehicles must not cross the property line or obstruct access to a neighbour’s driveway.
- Near intersections: Vehicles must not be parked on a lower driveway boulevard if the driveway is within nine metres of an intersection. This helps maintain visibility for drivers, pedestrians and other road users.
