ELORA – The Elora Adventure Film Festival is returning this November with more screenings, special events, and stories of adventure from around the world.
The festival runs from November 5th to 8th, featuring 30 curated short films divided into three programs. Screenings will take place at St. John’s Anglican Church and the Elora Centre for the Arts.
A new addition this year is a children’s event at the newly expanded Elora Centre for the Arts, featuring short films for kids followed by an adventure-related activity.
“Our vision is to inspire and entertain audiences of all ages by showing ordinary people achieving extraordinary things,” says festival founder Ian Evans.
Two guest speaker events are also planned for Saturday, November 7th, at St. John’s Anglican Church.
John Geiger will share the story behind the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s recent discovery of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ship, which sank in 1922 at the end of the Heroic Age of Polar Exploration. Geiger’s book explores Shackleton’s legacy, his Canadian connections, and the century-long search for the vessel.
Kevin Callan, also known as “the Happy Camper,” will share advice and stories from a lifetime of paddling Canada’s rivers, making the case for thriving in the outdoors rather than simply surviving.
“The Elora Adventure Film Festival fits perfectly into the already culture-rich Village of Elora, with both of our key locations steeped in the history of the village and surrounding area,” says Evans.
Tickets and the full festival schedule are available at eloraadventurefilmfestival.ca.
