NEWS RELEASE TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON
CENTRE WELLINGTON –Deputy fire chief Tom Mulvey has been promoted to chief, stepping into the role after Brad Patton announced his plans to retire after 18 years with the Township. Tom has been a dedicated member of the Township fire department for over 25 years, including 18 years as a senior officer. He joined the Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Department in 1993.
“Deputy fire chief Mulvey will make a seamless transition into Fire Chief due to his extensive knowledge, leadership and experience serving our community to date” said Mayor Kelly Linton. “I want to thank Brad Patton for his 18 years of service protecting and serving our community. Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Services is highly respected by many other municipalities, and I know that is because of Patton’s leadership, commitment and dedication to Centre Wellington”.
“I am taking over the reins of an extraordinary team, and I could not be more honoured to lead a fantastic team of fire service professionals” said Mulvey. “I am eager to begin the next chapter of my career as Fire Chief, and would to thank Chief Patton for his mentorship and support over the past 18 years. I look forward to serving the residents and visitors of Centre Wellington”.
Tom Mulvey will commence his role as Fire Chief on May 29, 2021.
